In the Fall of 2011, The Real School of Music launched the Classical Music Project - an exciting classical program designed for aspiring musicians of all ages - from children as young as five to seniors, and everyone in between.
If you've ever dreamed of playing or singing classics from Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Chopin or Debussy, then the Classical Music Project is for you! And, whether you’re just beginning, or making your way back to music after time away, our world-class faculty will be your guide to mastering the timeless music you love.
Lessons are now available on piano, violin and voice, with new instruments to be added over the coming months. Children can even learn classical piano along side their parents in a special group lesson format that provides wonderful opportunities for parent-child bonding.
Why Classical Music?
Research shows that the positive effects of classical music are many - from enhancing brain activity, to inducing a positive mood. The phenomenon commonly known as the “Mozart effect” suggests that exposure to classical music improves performance of spatio-temporal reasoning, and short-term memory. Classical music has even been shown to increase production of the neurotransmitter Serotonin, which has been shown to aid in depression by easing tention and helping to maintain "joyous" feelings.
(For children under five years old, please check out our RealKids Early Childhood Music Program).
