Real School's Group Intro Lessons are the perfect opening act for any music education. The lessons were designed for age groups from age 8 through adults. For younger age group, please visit our RealKids-Early Childhood program. Our highly educated, certified instructors will introduce you and other beginners to your instrument in comfortable age-appropriate group sessions. You'll learn the basics you need to start playing the music you love, before making the jump to more personalized Private Lessons. Next group session starts the week of January 9th.

Lessons Description
Intro to Guitar
Learn cool riffs, chords and songs that will impress everyone! You'll learn how to play with proper technique, plus all about how to tune and care for your guitar. Class Requirements: Beginners only. Students will need to supply their own acoustic or electric guitar. Materials will be provided.
Intro to Keyboard
Learn the fundamentals of piano in a relaxed group setting. You'll be introduced to the basics of notation and play simple songs and chords that will provide a solid foundation at an affordable price. Class Requirements: Beginners only. Electronic keyboards provided in our keyboard lab. Materials will be provided.
Intro to Singing
If you love to sing, this is the class for you! You'll learn all about how to sing correctly and with confidence while singing some of your favorite songs in a group with other kids. You'll learn how to use a microphone and participate in fun hands on activities to help you learn about your voice. Class Requirements: Materials will be provided. Wear comfortable clothes.
Intro to Drums
Move over pots and pans, this class is all about the real thing. Students will learn to properly strike with sticks, create basic rhythm patterns and learn to play drums with other instruments.
Intro to Ukulele
You will learn the fundamentals of playing and performing songs in several different styles on this unique and fun instrument. Class Requirements: Beginners only. Students will need to supply their own ukulele.
Intro to Folk Mandolin
This class will cover the basics of learning how to play this small Celtic instrument including basic open string chord forms and strums, easy scale patterns and picking, rhythm and timing. The class will work on a selection of tunes drawn from Celtic, French and American Traditions. Class Requirements: Students will need to supply their own mandolin. Materials will be provided.
Digital Recording for Teens
Are you or your friends in a band? Do you have garage band at home but don't know how to use it? Learn how to make your very own multitrack digital recording using digital software such as Apple’s Garage Band and Digidesign’sProTools. Class Requirements: Materials will be provided.
Digital Recording for adults
Learn how to produce your own multi-track digital recording using digital software such as Apple’s Garage Band and Digidesign’sProTools. At the conclusion of the course, students will have gained a general familiarity with basic home and studio recording techniques for a fraction of the cost of a traditional recording studio.
Glee for Teens
Age 13-17
Come on out for a fun night of singing the songs you love from the hit show while learning some basic vocal tips and techniques under the direction of a professional vocal instructor. Class Requirements: Wear comfortable clothes. All levels welcome.
Glee for Adults
Age 17 and Up
Glee for Adults is a group vocal class designed to introduce formal vocal training through the songs from the hit show Glee. Repertoire will include, but is not limited to, the musical numbers that were performed on the show. In addition, participants will work together, and function like a small “Glee Club”. Training includes breath support, vocal resonance, posture, basic ear training, harmonizing, and ensemble singing techniques (Don’t worry, there’s no dancing!) Class Requirements: Wear comfortable clothing. All levels welcome.
